By accessing and using the VerityVault web application ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use our Service.
VerityVault ("we," "us," or "our") provides a secure digital vault service for storing, organizing, and sharing sensitive personal information with trusted individuals.
VerityVault is a cloud-based secure digital vault platform that allows you to:
3.1 Account Creation: To use our Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
3.2 Master Passphrase: You will create a master passphrase that serves as the encryption key for your data. We do not store this passphrase and cannot recover it if lost. You are solely responsible for remembering your master passphrase.
3.3 Account Security: You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
3.4 Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
4.1 Zero-Knowledge Architecture: VerityVault employs zero-knowledge encryption, meaning your data is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers. We cannot access, read, or decrypt your stored information.
4.2 Data Encryption: All user data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption. Your master passphrase serves as the encryption key and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
4.3 Privacy Policy: Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
4.4 Data Storage: Your encrypted data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
5.1 Content Ownership: You retain all rights to the content you upload to VerityVault. By using the Service, you grant us a license to store and process your encrypted data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
5.2 Prohibited Content: You agree not to upload or share content that:
5.3 Backup Responsibility: While we maintain backups of encrypted data, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important information. We are not liable for any data loss.
5.4 Passphrase Management: You acknowledge that if you lose or forget your master passphrase, your data will be permanently inaccessible. We cannot recover lost passphrases or decrypt your data.
6.1 Free Trial: We offer a free trial period for new users with limited features as specified on our pricing page.
6.2 Paid Subscriptions: Access to premium features requires a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
6.3 Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
6.4 Refund Policy: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. Refunds for subsequent renewals are issued at our discretion.
6.5 Price Changes: We reserve the right to modify subscription fees with 30 days' advance notice to active subscribers.
7.1 Sharing Responsibility: You are responsible for determining what information to share with circle members and managing access permissions appropriately.
7.2 Member Invitations: When you invite someone to your circle, they will create their own account and passphrase. Shared data is encrypted and re-encrypted for each recipient.
7.3 Access Revocation: You can revoke circle member access at any time. Revoked members will lose access to shared information, but may retain copies they downloaded before revocation.
7.4 Post-Demise Sharing: You may configure certain information to be shared with designated circle members only after your demise has been verified according to the Service's demise verification process. Once shared, this information becomes accessible to the designated recipients.
8.1 Service Availability: We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily restricts access.
8.2 Modifications: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service with reasonable notice to users.
8.3 Updates: We may update the Service to improve functionality, security, or user experience. Critical security updates may be applied without prior notice.
9.1 Termination by User: You may terminate your account at any time through account settings. Upon termination, you will lose access to your encrypted data.
9.2 Termination by VerityVault: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities.
9.3 Data Retention: After account termination, we will retain your encrypted data for 60 days to allow for account recovery. After this period, data will be permanently deleted.
10.1 No Warranty: The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
10.2 Limitation of Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by law, VerityVault shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.
10.3 Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10.4 Data Loss: While we implement robust security and backup measures, we are not liable for data loss due to forgotten passphrases, account termination, or technical failures.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VerityVault, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12.1 Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which VerityVault is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.2 Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
All intellectual property rights in the Service, including software, design, trademarks, and content (excluding user content), belong to VerityVault or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express permission.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
You agree to comply with all applicable laws, including export control and sanctions laws. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
