2. Managing Your Data

  1. Add Data: Use the dashboard to add new entries in any category. Fill in details and upload supporting documents.
  2. Edit Data: Click the edit icon next to any entry to update information or replace documents.
  3. Delete Data: Remove entries you no longer need. All deletions are permanent and secure.

3. Uploading Documents with Google Drive

Giving access to your Google Drive is a mandatory step to upload and share documents in VerityVault. We only request permission to a specific folder in your Google Drive, so your other files and folders remain private and inaccessible to the app. This ensures that all document uploads and sharing actions are secure, verifiable, and privacy-respecting.

  • How it works: In the Documents page, Click "Add Document" and select the file you want to add. Only that file is accessed and uploaded to the Google Drive.
  • Security: You can revoke Google Drive access at any time from your account settings.

4. Forming Circles

Circles let you group users under categories like Family, Business, or Advisors. Each circle can have its own set of shared documents and permissions.

  1. Go to the Circles section and click "Create Circle".
  2. Choose a category and invite members by email.
  3. Assign roles and set sharing permissions for each member.

5. Sharing Data & Documents

  • Share Data: Select any entry and click "Share" to choose recipients and set permissions.
  • Share Documents: Share attached files securely. You can edit or revoke shares at any time.

All sharing is encrypted and access-controlled.

6. Data Sharing After Demise

  1. When a user is marked as demised, 3/4th of the circle (including the mandatory Endorser) must approve.
  2. After approval, the app sends emails to the demised user for 5 days with a "Reject" option.
  3. If there is no response, the user is marked as demised and data/documents are shared as per the circle's rules.

This ensures data is only shared after careful verification and consent.

7. Delete or Export Data

  1. Download your data at any time from your profile page.
  2. To delete your account, go to settings. All your encrypted data will be erased from our servers.

8. Tips for Maximum Security

  • Use a unique, strong passphrase.
  • Never share your passphrase with anyone.
  • Regularly review your sharing permissions.
